InfoWorld began publishing in 1978 as Intelligent Machines Journal by Jim Warren. In late 1979 it was sold to IDG and the next year the name was changed to InfoWorld. From the start it provided articles from which readers could learn about computing, how computing was being used in school and featured articles about ed. tech. pioneers. Today it is only available as a website but still highlights educational computing news.
